Torrent Tyrannulet

The Torrent Tyrannulet is a small flycatcher that we find near mountain rivers in Costa Rica, and Cataratas Bijagua is a great place to spot these special birds.

They forage for insects by perching on rocks in the middle of the stream or along the edges.

Because they're so small, they can be difficult to see at first, as they disappear in the spray of water from the river.
